Flew from Lima to Cusco. Bus from Cusco to Ollantaytambo via the Pisac marketplace, following the Urubamba River through El Valle Sagrado, with a side trip to the Willoq community. Narrow-gauge railroad from Ollanta Station to Machu Picchu. Two days to explore the ruins and village of Aguas Calientes. Return by rail to Ollanta Station, then by bus over the mountains via Chincheros pass to Cusco and Sacsahuaman.

Altitudes from 7200' at Machu Picchu to 12,100' at Sacsahuaman. Headaches, and Coca tea!
